Ana Dascalescu’s Story
In 1981, during the height of Romania’s communist regime, Ana and her husband, Mike, made a daring escape from the country. Hidden by her husband aboard a petroleum tanker ship, she entered the port undetected — miraculously passing through a checkpoint guarded by soldiers who, by God’s supernatural intervention, did not see her.
On that night of November 6, while pregnant with their first child, Ana jumped into the frigid waters of the Black Sea. Her husband pulled her up to the top of the ship with a rope, where she remained hidden for eight days until they reached Greece.
From there, the journey continued through Yugoslavia and into Italy, where they lived in an immigration camp until receiving naturalization through the U.S. Embassy. They eventually settled in the United States and lived there for 30 years.
After the fall of communism, Ana and her husband began returning to Romania — a nation left spiritually devastated by decades of oppression and atheistic propaganda. They started by evangelizing and ministering in broken communities and eventually answered the call to return full-time as missionaries.
Today, Ana and her husband are actively reaching the lost with the gospel, planting churches, training leaders, and serving in areas where the good news has not yet been preached. Ana has a deep passion for the women of Romania who for a long time had no voice and were offered no leadership positions in their churches. She is organizing various events and conferences and encouraging women to step into their God-given callings.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and generous support for the women and families of Romania. Your partnership makes this mission possible.
